Hi, I’m Holly Hackinson, the face behind Lake Oconee Life.

Although I’m originally from Long Island, I have lived in Georgia for most of my life, and in 2013 Lake Oconee became my new home. I first drove through the Lake Oconee area while moving my daughter Madi (our Editor-In-Chief) to her new college apartment in Augusta, I was immediately smitten, and six months later I arrived at Reynolds Lake Oconee with the u-haul.

Yes, it was pretty much love at first sight with me and Georgia’s Lake Country, and the more I got to know Lake Oconee, the more I started recognizing the need for a community hub to keep locals up to date with all the events, activities, dining and shopping that make our community special. I created Lake Oconee Life to fill that gap, and have been thrilled at how sharing local information with this community has also helped me to discover new opportunities and events that I might have missed out on otherwise!

Our mission is to provide you with real-time community information that enables you to find fun things to do, delicious places to dine at and introduce you to businesses you can rely on!

Lake Oconee Life is truly a family affair.
