Lupitas Antojitos Mexicanos
Lupitas Antojitos Mexicanos is not your typical Mexican-American restaurant. Instead of basic Tex-Mex, they offer authentic Mexican food prepared using the owners’ Maria and Veronica Soto’s secret family recipes. Veronica Soto explains that Antojitos Mexicanos means Mexican dishes, and Lupita was their mother’s name. “People tell us often that our food tastes like it’s home-cooked, and not from a restaurant,” she says, “and we take a lot of pride in that.”
The original Soto family business, Lupitas Mexican restaurant, was opened by Maria and Veronica’s parents 20 years ago. The restaurant transitioned into Lupitas Mexican Grocery 15 years ago, and is still in operation as a grocery store. Carrying on family traditions in their own way in 2018, Maria and Veronica Soto opened Lupitas Antojitos Mexicanos in the Lake Oconee Village shopping center.
