A fun way to sample the food at Lake Oconee is create your own little food tour. Lynward and I planned our own food tour one Saturday, starting at 11:00 am in Greensboro and working our way to Eatonton. You can follow our path or create your own.

11:15 am: Buttermilk Pie @ The Yesterday Cafe Always start with dessert - life’s short!

Noon: A flight @ Oconee Brewing Company We +1 on our flight and shared.

1:00 pm: Denver Burger @ Cafe 44. We split the burger.

2:00 pm: Blueberry Martinis @ The National Tavern We did NOT share at this stop.

3:00 pm: Four bourbon wings and the best potato salad @ Georgia Butts BBQ This happens to be happy hour! We did split the wings and brought the rest of the potato salad home. You can dine lakeside too!

4:00 pm: Italiano Cauliflower Crust Gluten Free Pizza @ The Pizza Place We ordered this pizza to go to eat later. However, we proceeded to eat half of it as soon as we got home. Also a lakeside dining option.

4:30 pm: Brisket and French Fries @ Sisson’s Old South Barbeque This we took to go took to go as well. We did enjoy eating out of our to-go box for a couple of days as it was a large portion of barbeque.

We hope you have enjoyed this post and found it helpful. Please let us know if you try our little food tour or if you create your own, we would like to know your route.
