The Burch x Boathouse: Lakeside dining at Harbor Club
From food truck to lakeside kitchen
The story of The Burch x Boathouse is a love letter to Lake Oconee. Chef Casey Burchfield moved to the lake in 2014 with his wife Morgan and their rescue dogs. After years of cooking in luxury resorts and for chef Wolfgang Puck, he decided to share his culinary talents with his neighbors and launched The Burch brand. What started as a small business selling seasonings and sauces soon became a private chef service and then a full time food truck.
Casey’s entrepreneurial spirit did not stop there. In 2023 he teamed up with his friend Jon to open Table at the Lake, an upscale dining room in Greensboro. By summer 2025 Casey, Morgan, Jon and their colleague Geoff launched The Burch x Boathouse, taking over the Boathouse at Harbor Club, a lakeside venue known for its views. The team expanded beyond the food truck window to offer a full bar and lunch and dinner menus. Live music on the patio and a relaxed vibe make this venture a natural extension of the brand’s playful, community oriented spirit.
Lakeside hangout at Harbor Club
Located at 3991 Walker Church Road in Greensboro, The Burch x Boathouse sits on the waterfront at the Harbor Club marina. Visitors can arrive by boat or car for a casual meal. Guests order at a counter, receive a buzzer and pick up their Burch bites when it buzzes. After enjoying a meal, diners help keep the lakeside vibe running smoothly by clearing their table and leaving trays in the designated area. Indoor and outdoor seating options let people choose between air conditioned comfort or open air lake views.
The casual dining experience pairs well with the location’s hours: open Thursday through Monday from 11 AM to 9 PM. Live music on the patio fills the air on weekend evenings. Large screens show football on afternoons and evenings, making it a favorite spot for game day watch parties. The Burch team encourages patrons to check social media for weekly music schedules and special events.
Menu and experience
Although the Boathouse menu changes with the seasons, it still features the comfort classics that made The Burch food truck a local favorite. Lunch and dinner menus highlight casual dishes prepared with quality ingredients, and the full bar serves craft cocktails, local beers and refreshing lake friendly beverages. Whether diners crave a hearty meal or snacks to share, the atmosphere remains welcoming and laid back — perfect for lingering by the water.
Live music and events
Lake Oconee loves a good party, and The Burch x Boathouse delivers. On weekend evenings the patio hosts live musicians, and during football season games are broadcast on the restaurant’s screens. The team also organizes occasional specials and festivals. That lively programming adds to the venue’s reputation as a Lake Oconee hangout where families, boaters and vacationers feel at home.
Catering and food truck services
The Boathouse is not the only way to enjoy The Burch. Casey still operates his food truck for private events and festivals, offering drop off and on site catering. Whether guests are hosting a corporate lunch, a lake house birthday or a community festival, the team can bring their signature “Burch bites” to you. Catering menus are customizable, and their flexible setup works well for gatherings big and small. To inquire about catering or food truck appearances, send a note to burchthis@gmail.com.
