Table at the Lake
Table at the Lake: Lake Oconee fine dining destination
A New American tradition in Greensboro
Table at the Lake is Lake Oconee’s fine dining jewel. Located at 1010 Cowles Clinic Way in Greensboro, the restaurant brings New American cuisine to the lake’s relaxed setting by creating seasonal menus with locally and regionally sourced ingredients. Guests are greeted by a friendly team in a casual yet elegant dining room where inventive flavors meet a laid back lakeside vibe. Locals and visitors alike come together over delicious food and good conversation, making this eatery a go to spot for a night out or a special occasion.
Meet the team
Executive chef Casey Burchfield and managing partner Jon Altizer Bieger joined forces to open Table at the Lake. Casey earned fans across Lake Country with The Burch food truck and brings his creativity to the restaurant’s kitchen. Jon, who grew up in southwestern Virginia, oversees the front of house and beverage program. Together they blend culinary passion, attentive service and a love for Lake Oconee dining into a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
Menus and signature dishes
Dinner at Table at the Lake covers a wide range of tastes. The menu features snacks like tuna sliders and mushroom toast, vegetable forward plates such as roasted cauliflower and charred cabbage salad, and comforting classics like focaccia and beef tartare. Handmade pastas include fall gnocchi sardi with duck confit, gulf crab chitarra and truffle risotto. Entrées range from grilled swordfish and oven roasted mahi to long bone pork chops, lamb loin and ribeye steaks, with sides like curly fries and creamed farro. The menu changes with the seasons, so regulars always find new flavors.
Sunday brunch brings its own delights: caviar sammy, lobster and biscuits, shrimp cocktail, huevos rancheros, a power grain bowl or pancakes with double fried chicken. Brunch cocktails range from mimosas and breakfast martinis to Bloody Mary’s and espresso martinis. Chef Casey’s famous smash burger—celebrated from his food truck—remains a staple for those seeking a casual bite.
Supper club and special events
To extend its hospitality beyond the dining room, Table at the Lake offers a monthly supper club. Members select a two or four person menu designed by chefs Casey Burchfield and Shaun Thomas, add optional wine or cocktail pairings and pick up a meal ready to serve. Membership is flexible—you can skip, pause or cancel whenever you need. The restaurant also hosts wine dinners and culinary experiences, and tickets for special events are sold through Resy. Private dining is available for intimate celebrations.
Hospitality and community
Food is a bridge at Table at the Lake. Casey and Jon prioritize integrity and respect within their team. During busy times the restaurant politely limits dining time to two hours, asks guests to dress casually without athletic wear and welcomes only service animals. The wine list earned recognition in Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards, and partnerships with local farms showcase the region’s bounty. Free parking, a full bar and outdoor seating near nearby resorts and vacation rentals make the restaurant a convenient stop for lake goers and residents.
