The 2026 Scarecrow Contest & Showcase brings a festive fall tradition to Downtown Eatonton, featuring imaginative scarecrows created by local businesses, civic organizations, churches, families, schools, and community groups. These creative displays will be showcased throughout downtown during the entire month
of October, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the area and vote for their favorite entries.

Dates: October 1–31
Categories:
Business Category – Scarecrows created by local businesses
Non-Business Category – Scarecrows created by individuals, families, churches, schools, civic organizations, and other community groups
How to Vote:
Paper Ballot: Visitors can stop by the Main Street office at City Hall to cast a paper ballot. There is no limit to the number of paper ballot votes.
QR Code: Each scarecrow display features an orange sign with a QR code for online voting. Online voting is limited to one vote per hour per IP address.
The winning scarecrows will be announced during a Facebook Live broadcast on
November 1.
Visitors are invited to stroll through Downtown Eatonton, admire the creative displays, support the local community, and cast their votes for their favorite scarecrows throughout October.
