19th Annual Downtown Chili Cook-Off & Fall Festival

Get ready for a full day of flavor, fun, and friendly competition at Madison’s 19th Annual Downtown Chili Cook-off & CASI GA State Championship Open Cook-Off, taking place in Town Park.

Festivities begin with the Firefighter Fall 5K & Kids Fun Run—a great way to kick off the day. (Details available here)

The main event opens at 10:00 a.m. with live music on the Toe-Tappin’ Music Stage along Second Street. Explore the Marketplace on the Great Lawn, featuring locally grown and produced food items and handcrafted goods from talented regional artisans.

Hungry early? Food vendors will be serving up delicious festival fare starting at 10:00 a.m., with the beer garden opening at 11:00 a.m.

Chili sampling begins at 12:30 p.m. sharp, with tickets available at two gates starting at NOON. For just $5, attendees receive a sampling wristband, a spoon, and a People’s Choice ballot—your chance to taste and vote for the best chili of the day.

The competition includes both Open and CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) categories, along with prizes for showmanship and the coveted People’s Choice Award. Winners will be announced around 3:30 p.m. from the Pavilion Stage.

Festival Hall Presents the fabulous Joe Gransden with special guest Robin Latimore for a swingin’ good time holiday show!  Come celebrate the season with Joe Gransden and his 10 piece band!

Gransden has performed worldwide and released 16 albums under his own name. Renowned first for his hard bop approach as a trumpeter, Gransden’s singing voice has been compared to that of Chet Baker and Frank Sinatra.  Gransden is the triple threat: fabulous singer, killer trumpet player and charmingly hilarious entertainer. With more than 30 years of performing, Joe has honed his talents, always bringing the best musicians along for the ride.

Holiday Parade & Caroling by Candlelight

We'll be parading through Downtown Madison to ring in the Christmas Holiday!

The Holiday Parade will feature floats, walking groups, vintage cars, horses, dogs, dancers, and the award-winning MCHS Marching Bulldog Band, all decorated to this year's theme - Twelve Days of Christmas.

Show your community spirit and join the fun by entering your business or organization in the parade. It's FREE to participate and entry forms are available for download at www.madisonga.com/holiday.

After the parade, join friends and neighbors for our annual Caroling by Candlelight celebration in Town Park. An evening full of music and holiday spirit brought to you by Madison Main Street. Enjoy a free concert by The Missile Toes with songs to warm our hearts and move our feet. The band will also lead the crowd in familiar carols to extend the holiday cheer.

In addition to the musical show, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and the Elves will be on hand to hear Christmas wishes. Kids are invited to sit and chat with Santa and Mrs. Claus or leave a special letter for speedy delivery to the North Pole.

The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center is hosting a seasonal supergroup event showcasing local talent, led by internationally recognized artists Sam Burchfield and his wife, Pip the Pansy, along with the husband and wife duo Cicada Rhythm from Athens, Georgia.

The concert will take place on Friday, December 13th, in the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center’s Hall on Foster, promising an exciting and festive evening with performances of well-known favorites from Vince Guaraldi and Burl Ives, as well as deep holiday cuts from Paul McCartney, Chuck Berry, and Marvin Gaye. Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the show beginning at 7:00 PM.
