Lake Oconee Elks Lodge Annual Turkey Shoot
The Lake Oconee Elks Lodge invites the community to join them for their Annual Turkey Shoot, a long-standing local favorite that combines friendly competition, great food, and community giving.
Participants will take aim at targets (not turkeys!) for a chance to win holiday turkeys and hams. All safety precautions will be in place, making it a safe and enjoyable morning for all. Guests can also enjoy a Breakfast Buffet and a Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar, with TVs showing the weekend football lineup.
Proceeds from the event support the Lodge’s fundraising efforts, benefiting programs for veterans, youth, scholarships, and families in need. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and all donations are appreciated.

Lake Oconee Elks Lodge Annual Turkey Shoot
The Lake Oconee Elks Lodge invites the community to join them for their Annual Turkey Shoot, a long-standing local favorite that combines friendly competition, great food, and community giving.
Participants will take aim at targets (not turkeys!) for a chance to win holiday turkeys and hams. All safety precautions will be in place, making it a safe and enjoyable morning for all. Guests can also enjoy a Breakfast Buffet and a Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar, with TVs showing the weekend football lineup.
Proceeds from the event support the Lodge’s fundraising efforts, benefiting programs for veterans, youth, scholarships, and families in need. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and all donations are appreciated.

19th Annual Downtown Chili Cook-Off & Fall Festival
Get ready for a full day of flavor, fun, and friendly competition at Madison’s 19th Annual Downtown Chili Cook-off & CASI GA State Championship Open Cook-Off, taking place in Town Park.
Festivities begin with the Firefighter Fall 5K & Kids Fun Run—a great way to kick off the day. (Details available here)
The main event opens at 10:00 a.m. with live music on the Toe-Tappin’ Music Stage along Second Street. Explore the Marketplace on the Great Lawn, featuring locally grown and produced food items and handcrafted goods from talented regional artisans.
Hungry early? Food vendors will be serving up delicious festival fare starting at 10:00 a.m., with the beer garden opening at 11:00 a.m.
Chili sampling begins at 12:30 p.m. sharp, with tickets available at two gates starting at NOON. For just $5, attendees receive a sampling wristband, a spoon, and a People’s Choice ballot—your chance to taste and vote for the best chili of the day.
The competition includes both Open and CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) categories, along with prizes for showmanship and the coveted People’s Choice Award. Winners will be announced around 3:30 p.m. from the Pavilion Stage.
This family-friendly event is a beloved Madison tradition—come for the chili, stay for the music, shopping, and community spirit.
