The Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts (PAPA) is proud to present playwright John Pielmeier’s Agnes of God, coming in April 2019 to the Plaza stage. This drama chronicles the complex relationships that evolve among the play’s three characters. Dr. Martha Livingston, a court-appointed psychiatrist, enters the cloistered world of the convent to determine the truth about a young nun, Agnes, accused of killing her newborn. During the sessions when Dr. Livingston strives to determine the mental competency of Agnes, Mother Miriam Ruth, the Mother Superior charged with protecting Agnes, raises questions concerning belief and faith with Dr. Livingston.
