Blue Christmas Prayer Service // Episcopal Church of the Redeemer

  • Episcopal Church of the Redeemer 303 North Main Street Greensboro, GA, 30642 United States (map)

Join Reverend Bill at the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer in Greensboro for our third annual Blue Christmas Prayer Service on Friday, December 20th at 12 Noon. This meaningful event coincides with the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. They recognize that for many, the holiday season can be a time of reflection on loss and can exacerbate feelings of depression. Their service offers a supportive space for those affected by these feelings, allowing them to connect with a community that understands and cares.

In previous years, attendees have described the service as providing a sense of hope and peace. The gentle atmosphere, with elements like silence, prayers, readings, music, candlelight, and warm blankets, encourages personal reflection and comfort. It is a place where sadness can be acknowledged and transformed into hope for brighter days ahead.

This service is open to everyone, free of charge. Whether you are grieving, feeling the weight of depression, or simply seeking a moment of quiet reflection, we invite you to participate at whatever level feels right for you. For further information, please contact the church at (706) 453-7171 or email Rev. Bill Combs at revbillcombs@gmail.com.
