Come From Away AUDITIONS — Presented by The Lake Country Players
The Lake Country Players bring the Tony Award-winning musical Come From Away to Festival Hall in downtown Greensboro this November — and LCP is proud to be one of the first community theaters in the region chosen to premiere it.
This New York Times Critics' Pick tells the remarkable true story of the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, that opened its doors to 7,000 stranded airline passengers in the days following September 11th. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and strangers became lifelong friends. Written by Tony nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, Come From Away has earned acclaim across North America for its emotional depth, clever staging, and versatile ensemble cast — most performers portray multiple characters throughout the show. Directed by Michael A. Blackmon with music direction by Manuel Martinez.
Rehearsals will be Tuesdays/Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Sundays from 2:00-5:00 at Lakeside Church until the month prior to the production. THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON CAST AVAILABILITY. Lake Country Players tries to accommodate the cast as much as possible.
Beginning one month prior to production, rehearsals will move to Festival Hall, 201 N. Main St., Greensboro, GA. Rehearsals the week prior to production and the week of production are mandatory unless cleared with the Director at least 2 weeks in advance. And will be held Monday-Thursday 6:00-8:00 and Sunday (Tech day) will be from 1:00-5:00. Rehearsal schedules will be adjusted as deemed necessary by the Director.
