Music for the Soul | East Georgia Concert Chorale

  • First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro 117 South Main Street Greensboro, GA, 30642 United States (map)

When soaring melodies, lush harmonies, moving texts and beautiful voices combine, our souls can be touched in moving ways.

The community is invited to a free concert, "Music for the Soul," presented by the East Georgia Concert Chorale.

Under the direction of Dr. Brian Williams, the twenty-five-member choral ensemble has a mission to unite hearts and minds in song to the benefit of the community. Selections span five centuries and include "What Is a Heart" by Duson, "The May Night" by Brahms, "Gloria" by Haydn, "If Music Be the Food of Love" by Dickau, "Measure Me, Sky!" by Hagenberg, "Little Innocent Lamb" (Spiritual, arr. Bartholomew), and more.

The concert takes place Thursday, May 28 at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro, located at 117 S. Main Street, Greensboro, GA 30642. No tickets are required.

At the end of the concert, attendees will have the opportunity to donate to Our Father's Kitchen, a collaborative community effort in Greensboro and the Lake Oconee area. OFK provides free Saturday lunches to address local food insecurity. Supported by multiple downtown churches and the Rotary Club, the program serves approximately 120 meals weekly and supports youth and backpack programs.
