Experience the park after dark during the Scorpion Night Hike on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 8:45 PM to 9:45 PM at Hard Labor Creek State Park. This unique guided adventure invites participants to explore the nighttime world of the park and discover creatures that are rarely seen during the day.
Using special UV flashlights provided by park staff, hikers will search for scorpions along an easy to moderate one-mile trail while learning about the fascinating nocturnal wildlife that calls the park home. Led by knowledgeable park staff, this educational experience offers a fun opportunity to explore nature from a completely different perspective.
Space is limited to 15 participants, and advance registration is required. Participants should bring a flashlight and wear sturdy walking shoes for the hike.
