Georgia and the South made music that conquered the world. Blues, Country, Gospel and Jazz, the invention of centuries of European migration and African slavery, have had a profound influence on the music of yesterday and today. Come to the Sunday at the Museum Lecture, May 5th at The Plaza, to hear historic recordings of a wide range of Georgia musicians and styles, including music from the cultures of Georgia immigrants from Asia, Africa, and Spanish America. Each recording will be accompanied by commentary on the performers and their times. Enjoy a fascinating afternoon of music, famous and forgotten.
