Poetry enthusiasts are invited to join Dr. Tameka Cage Conley for an engaging poetry workshop. Conley, PhD, is a literary artist whose work spans fiction, poetry, plays, essays, and librettos. Her writing has appeared in Ploughshares, River Styx, Underbelly, The Virginia Quarterly Review, Callaloo, and The African American Review, among others.
Conley has received writing fellowships from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she earned her MFA in Fiction Writing, as well as the Cave Canem Foundation, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Squaw Valley Community of Writers, and Vermont Studio Center. Her libretto for the opera A Gathering of Sons received the Bronze Medal in the Society and Social Issues category of the New York Festivals TV and Film Awards.
She is an Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing at Oxford College of Emory University, where she directs the Creative Writing Program.
