October Break Kids Camp

Firefly Festival

Families, musicians, and fireflies will head to Town Park on the last weekend in July for the Firefly Festival celebrating the end of summer. 

FRIDAY KIDS NIGHT, JULY 26, 2024!

Join Madison Main Street on Friday night for "kids’ night" at Firefly. Bring the kids for a night of fun with stilt walkers, music, bubbles, face painters, fun inflatables, creative kids crafts, and family entertainment–all in the park from 6:00-8:00 pm. Sorry, no coolers allowed on Friday night. This is a ticketed event, kids pay $5 each, parents are free. Your ticket includes all activities within the park! The Firefly Kids Night is a 12 and under event.

SATURDAY ’DATE NIGHT’ CONCERT, JULY 27, 2024!

On Saturday evening, join Madison Main Street as they host a ’date night’ in Town Park. This year The Sensational Sounds of Motown band is back!! The concert is from 7:00–9:30 p.m., with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. This is a ticketed event; tickets are $15 at the gate. Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, kids 13 and under come in for free when accompanied. All tickets are sold at the gate–there are no pre-sales.

Come early to claim your favorite spot on the Great Lawn. Blankets, chairs, and coolers are all welcome on Saturday night–there are no food vendors on site. A limited number of tent spaces are available for rent for $25, please call Madison Main Street to reserve your spot. Lawn tent spaces will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. 

If you don’t feel like sitting on the lawn this time around, reserve a Gazebo Terrace table and treat your guests to take-out from one of our nearby downtown eateries. A Gazebo Terrace table is $100 and includes four concert tickets. Each table comes with four chairs (ask about room for two ’bring your own’ chairs), firefly lights, and a small cooler of ice to keep your beverages chilly. Tables can be reserved through Madison Main Street at (706) 752-7945 or email

Madison’s blooming azaleas and dogwoods herald the coming of a new season, but the celebration of spring hits full throttle on Saturday April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Town Park with the 25th Annual Madison Fest—a free family-friendly event featuring spring flowers, garden plants, handmade arts and crafts, regional food, creative crafting activities, and great live music all day long!

LOOK FORWARD TO ACTIVITIES INCLUDING:

Among the crafters, Madison Fest will showcase distinctive, handmade work and wares of over 75 local and regional crafters, artists and designers selling everything from pottery, woodwork, and jewelry, to handcrafted soaps, candles, preserves, locally grown alpaca yarn and much more. In addition, shop for hardy perennials that will stand up to our summer heat! One-of-a-kind gifts abound—relax and explore!

Ice Cold Beer on the Gazebo Terrace, Amici will sell you an icy cold beer to enjoy on a warm spring day. Beer is on sale from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Gazebo Terrace.

Check out a variety of Tasty Festival Food at the Second St. food court—grab a bite to eat and sit down to listen to great live music all day long from the Second St. Music Stage! The music starts at 10:00 a.m., be sure to check it out! 

Kids of all ages are invited to drop into the free Crafting Tent to create their own handmade masterpiece. 

This year during Madison Fest, The Madison Artists Guild is hosting a one-day Plein Air Paint Out in the beautiful Downtown Madison! Painting will begin at or after 9:00 a.m. on April 27 and last until 2:00 p.m. when all of the artwork will come to the Town Park Pavilion for judging and awards. Artwork will be on display (and for sale) from the Pavilion from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. For more information, or to sign up to paint go to www.TheMadisonArtistsGuild.org.

Discover what the sun really looks like with Charlie Elliott Astronomy, a chapter of the Atlanta Astronomy Club, as they show you the sun through specialized and safe solar viewing telescopes. You'll be able to look for all sorts of solar activity such as sunspots and solar flares. Drop by to see what the closest star is doing in real time today!

Meet David Burke of Tailshakers. Stop by and look into the eyes of some of Georgia’s native reptiles. On display will be venomous and non-venomous snakes as well as turtles, tortoises, and an American alligator.
