From the private collections of Madison residents, this latest exhibit in the Madison Collects visual arts series shines the spotlight on Eugene Swain.

A Madison “self-taought” artist who specialed in capturing rural life in Morgan county through his artwork. In 2021 Eugene Swain was tragically killed in a car crash, but his work still lives on through the Madison art community and the many residents who still own pieces of his work. The exhibit showcases over 70 painting and others works by the late artist, curated by Laree Zant and Karen Massey.
