Scottish Heritage Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro Ga. (117 South Main St., Greensboro Ga. 30642) will feature a church service with bagpipes, drums, flags, honored guests and a special banner with a sampling of Scottish Tartans.
The event will also feature “The Kirkin’ of the Tartans”, a special prayer/blessing given for all families, whether they are of Scottish Heritage or not. The church service will be followed by a snack of fried chicken (the American tradition of fried chicken originally came from Scotland.. But what made fried chicken a truly American dish were West African culinary traditions which gave us the spicy, crispy, and flavorful fried chicken we love today.).
All in attendance are invited to wear traditional Scottish clothing if you have it, or, come as you are!
